It is becoming evidently clear that business as usual is no longer an option. The current development paradigm is not coming up with the desired outcomes. On the environmental front, ecosystems continue to degrade and deteriorate at an alarming rate. Environmental problems ranging from biodiversity loss, deforestation, land degradation, depletion of soil, to marine pollution, ozone depletion, and climate change continue to plague the world. On the social front, the gap between the rich and poor within, and between countries continues to widen. On the economic front, the financial and economic crisis is represented in the collapse of the financial system, loss of jobs, and reduced volume of trade and incomes. The end result is a multiple crisis the world continues to face represented in the energy crisis, the food crisis, water, and then the financial and economic crisis. RAMSCO given its expertise, track record, and network of relevant collaborators in and outside Egypt is well placed to support the public and private sector to provide the enabling conditions to make the transition to a Green Economy, alleviating poverty, and mitigating global warming.
